  • From the Club Manager

Easter is just around the corner and the squash season is getting into full swing, with the tennis season slowing down. Club night is still running for both tennis and Squash on a Thursday evening and it is great to see many of you attending.
The club held a Quiz night at the end of March which was successful in raising over $500 toward replacing the club bar. It was a good night and great to see a few new teams and faces at the club taking part. Keep an eye out on the notice boards for the next one
On the grants front, the club has received funding from the First Sovereign trust to improve some of the cardio equipment in the gym. This will be taking place in the coming weeks and will benefit all members who use the gym. The club would like to acknowledge the First Sovereign Trust for the funding and projects like this would be a lot harder to get done without their support.
The club is currently looking for members to register their interest if there are any goods and services that they may be able to provide, particularly accountants, IT specialists, roofers. The club would love to support our members by giving them our business! Please contact Brett in the office if this is you.

  • Club Manager Role

It is with a tinge of sadness that I must announce my departure from the club this month. I have been given the opportunity to be National Squash Director for Squash New Zealand and this was an opportunity that I could not turn down. I would like to thank everyone who has helped me and the club over the last 3 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as club manager and wish the club and all its members the very best.

  • Vacancy Club Manager Role

    Vacancy for Club Manager Role

Are you known for your ability to get the best out of people? Are you great at the front office bit, the customer service, marketing and membership side, but equally strong at keeping the back office on track?

The Royal Oak Racquets club is home to both Squash and Tennis featuring five courts for each discipline, as well as a wide range of facilities such as a gym, swimming pool, bar and kitchen. We have over 100 years of history, and are recent winners of the Squash Auckland Club of the Year Awards and the New Zealand Squash Club of the Year. We’re fortunate to have a lot of great members!

Our current Club Manager has done a great job over the past 3 years and is now moving on to dizzier heights, so we are now looking for a replacement.

Working closely with the Club Executive Committee, the role is responsible for managing all member services, facilities, financial and sports administrative activities of the club. This includes staff and contractor liaison, and you’ll need to have some flexibility with your hours to accommodate members’ requirements and competition schedules.

You’ll need to have great leadership qualities, the ability to drive performance and change, and work with others to find solutions to the day to day administrative and membership challenges that arise. We’re looking for someone with loads of energy – a vibrant and positive personality, with a passion for member satisfaction and a personal interest in the sports/leisure industry. You’ll also have a sound understanding of budgeting, P&L and cash flow management, and be comfortable with Microsoft Office and computer based communications.

If this sounds like you, please send your CV and a cover letter to kellytownsend@xtra.co.nz. We would like to fill the position as soon as possible.
